RX type ring joint gaskets

API 6A RX type ring joint gaskets is an adaptation of the standard Type R. Type RX rtj gaskets shall be used on 6B flanges with type R grooves. Consideration should be given to the difference in finished make-up distance. The modified design uses an energizing on assembly effect which improves the efficiency of the seal. Designs are also available for Subsea applications.

Protection for RX ring joint gaskets during manufacturing, package and shipping process
the exposed sealing surfaces of RX type are protected from damage or deteriaration for shiping. Loose ring gaskets are boxed or wrapped during shipping and storage. The sealing surface of RX type ring joint gasket must be free of indentations, score marks, tool and chatter marks.
